Our Goals   In the Bear Den, there are four general achievement groups: God, Country, Family, and Self. There are 120 achievement tasks and your Bear Cub must earn a certain number of achievements in each of the four groups to earn his Bear Badge.  This is the year your son will grow in amazing ways. After earning their Bear Badge, the scout may earn arrow points by completing additional achievement tasks.

Summary Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den.  The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook in our tracking Software.  The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, but you will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he graduates to Webelos.

Ready to join? Then you probably have some questions. Email Lisa at den3.pack742@gmail.com and leave your phone number and Diane will get back with you as soon as possible.

What the Bears are "Doing"...
  • January - March Schedule
    Hello Scouts and Parents,

Please note the following Den 9 key dates. I'm scheduling our meetings and "go see" activities through the first quarter 2015. This will help us complete Bear badge achievements in time for the Blue & Gold Banquet on March 26. We're working to do more achievements outside the scout hut to keep it fresh and provide a change of scenery. As always, we're open to your suggestions for completing achievements. We won't have another Den meeting in January since it was scheduled for the day before the pack meeting, but I encourage you to attend the pinewood derby clinic on Jan 25 so we can work on our cars together.

Visit www.scouttrack.com to update achievements with your scout. As we've discussed, several achievements can be completed at home and entered by parents. Let me know if you don't have your ID and password to access the site.
